The pattern was good and easy to follow. I brought it to fedex and had it printed full size. I reinforced the front panel and front flap and changed the part that holds the tuck lock. Hanks for sharing your pattern! Cheers, Bob

I am currently making my third iteration of this bag. I used a combination Buckley guy and Tandy hardware. Definitely use the buckle guy tuck lock much better. Bag on the left is first and made to original specs. Bag on left has several changes. 1” wider gusset and much longer 14” shoulder pad. This is the same leather I just oiled the darker one. I used a combination of hand stitching and machine stitching (Cobra 36). On the third iteration I will add another 1/2 inch to the gusset keeping the d rings close to the back so it rides correctly during carry. I will make the shoulder pad to 15 inches with four strap loops for design purposes and raise the front buckle strap 1 inch higher on the bag. I will also be using nickel finished hardware. One suggestion is the pen slots. I did away with them and just had three slots on the interior. Play with your pocket concepts. One last then. I used 5 ounce veg tan on the divider and 2-3 ounce for the actual pockets. Tandy double shoulder waxed.

This is a great pattern - really inventive and easy to follow with the video. I added my tuck lock (what was the cover piece on the interior) to the outside if the bag. Thought that looked nice! My only struggle was printing the pattern. The cheapest I could get a quote to print it in a large format was $85! Get ready for some puzzle work.
I really enjoyed making this bag. I made one for myself, and immediately had to make one for a friend. I do recommend using a stiffer veg tan. There is some beautiful water buffalo, etc., out there, but it just isn't stiff enough. I used really nice hardware from Buckleguy. In this case brass. On mine, I used the plated brass. I did move the patch that covers the front latch hardware tabs from inside the bag to the outside. Mainly because my machine really has a better looking topstitch than bottom stitch. And I think it looks better on the outside. This is a really rugged and useful saddlebag/satchel and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make a really tough and good looking bag.

This pattern was everything for me! I made this saddle bag for my husband for Father’s Day and it was a total hit!! He uses it everyday.
I loved this pattern! I crossed the No. 88 and No. 60 to make a laptop/messenger bag for my Dad and he loves it! The body is mostly the No. 88, with the double strap from No. 60, and instead of the tuck locks I stitched some hidden magnets into the straps and the body.
I love the style of your bags and products. So I’m a golfer but in Pittsburgh PA there’s no golfing between November and March due to weather. I picked up leathercraft during last years offseason and your patterns have definitely played a part in the discovery of a new passion. Now it’s something I do usually everyday. Each piece gets a little better than the last and developing the skills has really been a great experience . So thank you Parker for your part in that. I purchased the #88 Saddlebag Satchel pattern after watching the video by Parker as well as the one by Tanner Claridge titled "Why Didn't I Do This Sooner?" I'm asking myself the same question. This pattern is perfect! Everything goes together so well. I see many more of these in my future!
Was my second large project, went well. Would make another, maybe use a lighter weight for gusset. 5-6 oz.. looks great.
I made a modification to the flap design of the satchel, but thae plans were very good, and easy to follow. I love the entire plan, was great fun to make! Used 6/7oz natural strap anf Blue Holster Strap in 7/8oz from ALD,. Thanks for the great information available on your u=youtube and website.
it was fairly easy to do my mistake was to choose a bit to thin piece for front panel that ended up bubbling at bottom and had to fix it with a new piece and busy with completing it. once done i will definitely brag with it. Ta

Excellent pattern. My only suggestion would be to reorder the parts so that they take up less space making for a smaller print out. Perhaps also offer it as an acrylic template.

Very nice pattern with the video it was easy to assemble, can't say much more because it's a gift and the intended won't get it til Christmas.
Something went wrong somewhere with this digital pattern. I order through makers, don Gonzalez, slc just to name a few all the time and have never had an issue with their digital patterns. I tried over and over to get this one to work and just ended up getting rid of it. It wouldn’t print to size like all the rest. I have watched Parker since he started his channel and love his work and inspiration. Very disappointed

To be honest - I haven’t started my satchel yet but have got the pattern ready and pondering whether my leather is thick enough. Once started I will surely send you a pic or two.
Love your pattern took a little time to get familiar with the pattern but worked out great. I have been watching your youtube channel for quite awhile. I have made 3 bags and gave them to my 3 grandsons they loved them. one is in college 3 are in the military so I have to make one more. I bought a cobra class 3 its quite a machine. I love watching your whole family nice seeing them grow up. you are a excellent teacher. I been doing leather work now for 2 years. I do not make patterns but I will buy them if they look good to me and yours are excellent I have grown by watching your videos.
